West London's Olympia Redevelopment: Here's What's Opening In 2026

A Large Escalator And Glass Domed Rooftops At The New Redevelopment Of Olympia In London.

Development is well underway, with more sites opening as soon as spring 2026.

West London's incredible cultural venue, Olympia, has gone through a complete redevelopment and we're obsessed. The site, which has hosted everything from high-end fashion events and tech shows to cultural markets like Hyper Japan, as well as consumer networking affairs, for almost 140 years is city staple. It was also home to one of London's first cinemas and hosted Vivienne Westwood's debut fashion show - to say it's iconic would be an understatement.

Originally approved by Hammersmith and Fulham Council in 2019, the £1.3bn redevelopment is expected to continuing opening in stages through 2026 and to be fully up and running by 2027. Here's everything you need to know about the redevelopment of Olympia.

What Will The New Development Include?

Owners of the centre - YOO Capital and Deutsche Finance International - aren't holding back when it comes to splashing the cash for Olympia's redevelopment. Some exciting new developments like a new co-educational secondary school, Wetherby Pembridge, and Pillar Hall Restaurant (spearheaded by the founder of German Gymnasium and Quaglino's) have already opened.

The 14-acre site is set to host a whole range of brand-new facilities opening soon. Here's what to expect:

  • 1,575-seat theatre - this will be the largest purpose-built theatre in the city since the National Theatre opened nearly 50 years ago
  • 4,000 capacity live music hall
  • Hyatt Regency London Olympia - a 204-room luxury hotel
  • citizenM London Olympia - a 146-room, luxurious yet affordable accommodation
  • 550,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art office spaces - One Olympia
  • 25 new restaurants, bars and cafes
  • 2.5 acres of pedestrianised space

Despite the venue already being home to more than 200 events every year, welcoming over 1.6 million visitors annually, the redevelopment also includes upgrading its current spaces. The aim is to transform it into one of the world's top exhibition and event centres, including a new international convention centre.

When Will The Refurb Of Olympia Be Complete?

The opening is expected to continue through 2026, with new venues, including hotels, restaurants, and bars opening to the public this spring. With 17,000 employees working away, the entire space is planned to be complete by 2027. Check back here for the latest updates.
