Previously named No. 1 'best-reviewed in London' by DesignMyNight, The Boot & Flogger has been around since 1965. The first site from Davy's Wine Bars, it originally operated under the historic Free Vintners' license from the Worshipful Company of Vintners', meaning that they could only sell wine - making for a unique venue in a time where quality wine by the glass was usually reserved for high-end hotels.

Today, it maintains some traditional charm while adding in a few modern touches, like plants and white brick walls. Wine is still at the core of what they do, though the drinks list has expanded, and you'll also find tasty plates like wild mushroom orzo, pan-roasted chicken supreme and sirloin steaks.

Part of Barrafina Borough, Bar Daskal is a Spanish wine, cocktail and tapas bar. It's split across two floors, with a private hire space upstairs and a bright, warmly lit downstairs bar that's full of colourful furniture and wooden bar stools. The venue is named after the owners' grandfather, who worked from a studio in Estellencs in Mallorca.

There's an extensive list of Spanish wines and sherries, as well as a small number of cocktails made with Spanish spirits. Tuck into tapas on the side, from manteca Ibérica to Cantabrian anchovies and chorizo.

Located between London Bridge station and City Hall, El Vino is a Spanish-inspired wine bar and restaurant. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to watch the world go by, with decor that includes red leather seating, dark walls hanging lights - with a spacious outdoor terrace to boot.

A welcoming bar with an industrial but cosy aesthetic, Maltby Street Wine House flaunts exposed brickwork, arched ceilings and lots of pretty plants. They've got a huge variety of wines on offer, as well as a menu of European-inspired food.

Part of the Davy's group, The Mug House is an ale and port house with a historic feel to it. Straight out of a Dickens novel, this spot features arched ceilings, rustic wooden furniture, pewter tankards hanging from the bar and lots of cosy corners, where you can relax in a leather armchair.

A cool bar and bottle shop specialising in French, Italian and Slovenian wines, 40 Maltby Street is run from the warehouse of Gergovie Wines. Expect exposed brickwork, shelves tacked with bottles and simple wooden furnishings, with a small outdoor terrace that's great for summer.

Their food menu changes on a weekly basis, with favourites including chicken liver terrine, cured pork belly and roasted king mushrooms with sour cream.

Opened by hospitality entrepreneur Max Graham, Bar Douro is a popular Portuguese restaurant and wine bar in London Bridge. The venue is inspired by Graham's childhood in Porto and his travels around Portugal, and this is where the majority of their wines come from.

Several bottles come from their family estate, including many fortified wines. Hungry? Get stuck into the likes of salt cod fritters, garlic prawns, cheese platters and more in this picturesque white and blue space.

The building was originally a potato storehouse, and it's now been transformed into a wine shop, bar and bistro all in one - complete with an open kitchen and modern wine cellar.
