Located just across from Harrods, the Paradox Museum is home to all sorts of weird and wonderful exhibits. Expect plenty of optical illusions, which will have you disappearing into the walls, walking upside down and being cut in half by a sofa.

With an acronym for its name ("The Way I See Things") that reflects its ethos, Twist Museum challenges the boundaries of human perception across an interactive experience. There's over 80 exhibits here, all created in collaboration with artists, neuroscientists, and philosophers.

London's tube network is one of the oldest in the world, so it's no surprise that it hides a few secrets. Believe it or not, there are 40 abandoned underground stations that were either closed, bypassed or never finished over the years - including some you can visit.

Perhaps the most famous ghost station of them all, Aldwych closed to passengers in 1994. Since then, it's starred in everything from Sherlock to 28 Weeks Later. If you fancy seeing it for yourself, the London Transport Museum runs regular guided tours.
